All social care workers who have close personal contact with those who are clinically vulnerable to COVID-19, have been identified by the Joint Committee for Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) as a priority to receive the COVID-19 vaccination, and so this includes your Personal Assistant.
Hull City Council, working together with Hull CVS, will ensure that your Personal Assistant’s contact details are passed on to the local vaccination hub which is being run by Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Your Personal Assistant can also make themselves known to the vaccination hub by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
The vaccination hub will then make contact with your Personal Assistant directly to invite them for their vaccination.
We encourage them to take this opportunity to receive their vaccination as frontline social care workers are more likely to be exposed to COVID-19 at work. They may have COVID-19 without any symptoms and pass it on to family, friends and yourself, who may be at increased risk from coronavirus.
With high rates of COVID-19, it’s more important than ever to help stop the spread of coronavirus, to avoid pressure on the NHS and to keep the health and social care workforce healthy.
Please can you share this letter with your Personal Assistant in order that they can be prioritised to receive their COVID-19 vaccination. Please also remind them that the local vaccination programme has high numbers of eligible people to work through and so they should remain patient whilst waiting to be contacted.
I understand that you may also be waiting for information about receiving the vaccination yourself. People are being prioritised by the JCVI. No one will be excluded from the vaccination programme. Please be patient – when it is your turn to be vaccinated you will receive an invitation.
If you have any questions about this letter please contact the Adult Social Care Covid-19 Coordination Team by telephone on 01482 612 875 or by email on AdultSocialCareCovid19@hullcc.gov.uk
