The Big Conversation on Care is a national opportunity for people to share their views on what adult social care should look like in the future. It is about the services that support people when they become older, live with a disability, experience ill health, or need additional support to live independently. At some point in our lives, these issues affect many of us, our families, our friends, and our communities.
Whether you currently receive care and support, provide unpaid care for a loved one, work in the care sector, or simply have an interest in ensuring people can live well and independently, your voice matters. It is important to hear from people with different experiences, perspectives, and ideas so that future services reflect the needs and aspirations of the communities they support.
For Hull residents, this is a valuable opportunity to influence discussions that could help shape future policy and the way care services are designed and delivered. By sharing your views, you can help ensure that the experiences, needs, and priorities of people in Hull are represented in these national conversations. The more voices that take part, the stronger the case for creating services that work for local people and communities.
This engagement activity represents Phase 1 of a wider programme of work and conversation. The purpose of this first phase is to gather views, experiences, and ideas from as many people as possible through an online survey question – When we are old or disabled, or have a serious illness, who should support us and how?
Phase 1 will conclude on Wednesday 23 September and reopen in the New Year.
