WELFARE RIGHTS WORKER

Do you know your DLA from your PIP? Have you experience of advising people on a range of welfare rights benefits?

JOB DESCRIPTION
Choices and Rights are looking to set up a new welfare rights service to advise disabled people and their families on welfare rights and benefits. This is in response to local demand and to the proposed changes in the welfare benefits system. You will be involved from the start in establishing and delivering this service.

The post will have a busy caseload and will include providing independent assessments for the full range of social security and related benefits/services and a legal representation service to disabled people who need to use the appeal route to establish their correct legal entitlement

Location: Bransholme, Hull
Hours: 28-35 Hours per week (Monday-Friday)
Rate of pay: Actual Salary £29411.20 (Based on 35 hours)

SEARCH CRITERIA
◼️ Experience of advising people on welfare benefits
◼️ Experience of planning and prioritising own workload
◼️ Ability to communicate with people at all levels
◼️ Experience of managing a case work service or detailed customer service
◼️ Experience in the use of IT systems to deliver a casework service
◼️ Flexible approach to working and a proactive team member

ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT

Are you organised, friendly and a team player? Do you take pride in offering good customer service?

Choices and Rights are looking for a part time administration assistant to join our busy admin team. Our admin office supports our team of Independent Living workers and supports Direct Payment and Personal Health Budget users across the city.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role will be varied and you will be involved in all aspects of the day-to-day administration duties; these include but are not limited to:
◼️ Assisting with the recruitment of Personal Assistants, advertising, attending job fairs and processing applications
◼️ Completing payroll forms, insurance forms and consent forms for Direct Payment and PHB users
◼️ Maintaining client information systems, ensuring client information is kept up to date
◼️ Providing clients with holiday calculations for their Personal Assistants
◼️ Answering queries from disabled people & their families, general public & other organisations either via phone, email, written or face to face
◼️ Attending occasional home visits with Independent Living workers
◼️ Attend community information events to promote Choices and Rights
◼️ Assist with setting up meeting & training sessions, taking bookings and helping to facilitate on the day

Location: Bransholme, Hull
Hours: 21 Hours per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Rate of pay: Actual Salary £13332.32 (Based on 21 hours)
