Choices and Rights has been an organisation managed by disabled people and those with long term health conditions since we set up a small campaigning group in 1994. Since then, we have grown in size and we now employ 10 members of staff, support over 800 people who use Direct Payments and Personal Health Budgets and support them with employing over 1000 Personal Assistants.
Choices and Rights’ mission as an organisation of disabled people is to empower and enable it’s members, staff and volunteers to work together to meet the following aims:
1) With a local focus, promote the independence and inclusion of all disabled people in society.
2) Identify and proactively challenge the discrimination faced by disabled people.
3) Encourage and empower disabled people to work together, and with others, to achieve improved change locally.
